Early Help

The Manchester Virtual School also promotes the education of children with a social worker, those in kinship care and children supported by youth justice. These young people and their families may also be in receipt of support from Manchester’s Early Help Service.

Early Help is a service provided by Manchester City Council to support children, young people, and their families with early intervention and preventative services to address issues around safeguarding, education, health and wellbeing.

The overall goal is to resolve any concerns before they escalate and become significant challenges in the future. By tackling issues early on, Early Help aims to improve wellbeing, strengthen families, and promote positive outcomes for individuals and communities in Manchester.

Parents can access the service by contacting their nearest hub or submitting a Request for Early Help Form, which is available on the MCC website. Alternatively, schools can make a referral on the parents’ behalf. Please contact the school for further information. Download the Request for Early Help From here.

The service runs three Early Help Hubs across the city. Please ring your local hub for general advice and guidance.
